Remove and Replace the Rack Mounting Rails

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or equipment damage, be sure that the rack is adequately stabilized before extending the Ice Lake CBox (DELL) from the rack.

Warning

Before you power down the Ice Lake CBox (DELL), make sure the cluster has been shut down correctly. Powering down a CBox without adequate preparation, especially in small clusters, can cause problems with data availability.

1. Power down the Ice Lake CBox (DELL).

2. Remove all power:

   1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.

   2. Disconnect each power cord from the Ice Lake CBox (DELL).

3. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the CNodes and chassis.

4. Remove the Ice Lake CBox (DELL) from the rack rails, see Rack Mount the Ice Lake CBox (DELL).

5. Place the Ice Lake CBox (DELL) on a sturdy, level surface.

6. Remove the rails from the rack, see Rack Mount the Ice Lake CBox (DELL).

7. To replace the rack mounting rails, see Rack Mount the Ice Lake CBox (DELL).
